Unless the Pro is going to break the budget, go Pro. I still support the Evo generally, but the most recent read performance issue with the 840 Evo, which Samsung has ultimately decided to fix by having Magician refresh blocks periodically, leaves me a bit on the fence. There doesn't seem to be any durability impact, and most users aren't impacted, and Samsung says the 850 Evo doesn't have a similar issue...but I'm still a bit cautious.
To be clear, I have 840 Evos in use in various systems, and I have no intention of replacing them. I've not personally experienced the read performance issue for old data.
