No. I'm not sure of all of the combinations, but I think that M.2 can support 
both SATA and PCI Express (NVMe), and there are different physical form 
factors. 2280 (22x80mm) is the most common.

I have a NUC using an 850 EVO m.2 that is SATA, and the 950 Pro is NVMe-only. 
Both drives are 2280.
