I have always wondered if contact enhancers like Stabilant would help in some of these cases, just to expensive to try on a whim though.

Yeah, those aren't bad parts at all. I get most of my stuff from NewEgg as
well. I don't really use Gigabyte for mobos. I tend to stick with ASUS as
I've had really good luck with them.

Must be bad luck...or maybe cooling/weather? I don't know what part of the
country you're in.

Hi Brian,

I've never had problems like those with all of the boxes I have built.
Are
they really cheap parts? Without being there to watch the way you

it's hard to comment. Maybe a flaky power supply? Maybe the motherboard
is
not mounted correctly? The only problems I've had with the machines I've
built is a power supply dying after 5 years, it was a sparkle. Only other
problems I've had are users errors(deleting root directory), driver
issues,
or failed hard drives.

Cheap parts, no. The mobo in question is a Gigabyte nforce 2 board, all my CPUs are from Newegg (and not overclocked), my power supplies from Enlight, and my ram is Crucial.

Just bad luck I think.
