It merged with Norton's web services and was called "CatchUp" on the CNet side. It eventually died, it was a free service that like the rest of 'em, did not pull enough cash in ad revenue to keep alive.

It was a nice piece of software, save for the occasional goof ups like saying your VBruntimes for windows are out of date and to download a version made in 1998.

BigFix I think is still around and kicking.

Ok, here's a product I was thinking about today.. bought by CNET a few years
ago after being on it's own.. an independent piece of software, scanned your
PC for any piece of software installed, and when run, would alert you if
there were any updates available to any program installed on your PC.
