I recently got Zoomplayer running with ffdshow on my HTPC for DVD playback, according to this article http://htpcnews.com/main.php?id=ffdshowdvd_1 The main reason is to be able to do upscaling, but I can also use Zoomplayer to play avi files and a bunch of other things.
The issue is that even with no ffdshow enhancements the machine can't playback a DVD smoothly. It is under 100% CPU load the entire time and has noticeably jerky playback. IMHO the machine stats should be more than enough to play a simply DVD: Athlon 1.4 GhZ Tbird nForce 2 mobo 500Mb 333Mhz DDR Rage 128 Pro video card Pioneer DVR-108 Am I wrong in thinking that these specs should be able to handle DVD playback smoothly? Or is that video card severely lacking? -- Brian
