Heh heh. I'm waiting for Wayne or Joeuser to say "Oh yeah, that's common. You didn't know *that*?" :)
I don't know about common but I did have a machine around 1990 that replacing the cmos battery fix it. Since then I've always carried extra batteries in my repair kit & even salvage them from scrap mombos if I think about it.
