BS that one of the largest cable co's in the US can't get Motorola to help fix them problem and the only Motorola modem that does work is the newer DOCSIS 2.0 SB-5100????
1 step forward, 2 back as now I am effectively paying for 4Mb and can only get 3. Me thinks time to find an uncapping reference so I can at least force mine to 4Mb since they can't seem to make it work.
I know how you feel. My Linksys is all over the map, i.e. 1MB(or less) to 6MB and anywhere in between. Absolutely no consistency at all! I never know what the speed will approximately be even on known sites where I have had frequent d/l's. I hope that Cisco will come out with some firmware upgrade for the Linksys modems, especially since there are so many out here.
