Thanks for the opinions. It is nice to bounce ideas off others who might see it in a different light. My feeling was it might be a software rather than hardware issue due to my observations. > I wonder what would happen if you did a fresh install on a > SATA drive but in a NON Raid configuration ? Definite option. I may try a repair first since a re-install of all my software is time consuming. > >C) Finally, do I trust this motherboard I > There is nothing wrong with having more than one system. ;-) > But I would trust the 3200+ system if reconfiguring the > drives works figuring it was a software configuration, bug or > trojan issue of some sort. Before this problem, I had six working systems. 1) AMD Athlon XP 3200+ as my main system 2) AMD Duron 1.3GHz system my daughter uses 3) AMD Duron 800 MHz back up I am using now 4) AMD Athlon XP 2500+ home theatre/PVR system. 5) Old toshiba laptop that I just can't seem to part with and never use. I have a problem letting go! > Hey if you went with an AMD64 then you could also try out XP > Pro 64. ;-) Drool :) Anyone know if the new Action Pack includes XP Pro 64? I should be receiving it this week, I think. The message is in my e-mail, somewhere!? > --------+---------- > Wayne D. Johnson As always, Wayne, your insights, ideas and suggestions are excellent and appreciated. Tomorrow I will try the repair install on the SATA RAID, and if that is not successful, a new install on the RAIDless SATA drives. Jim Maki [EMAIL PROTECTED]
