I don't know that I would set it up as the main pc. There is no reasonable
(home user type) firewall that will run on XP64. While MS includes a
firewall it works only from internet to your pc, NOT from your pc to the
internet. So programs that you have installed may be reporting back to the
vendor your usage, machine info, etc.

Currently no Virtual CD emulation software in the home user class will run.
Virtual Hard Drive Pro is advertised to run on WinXP 64 but it costs of
$100. 

It is my absolute conviction that you would be sorry as the devil to run
XP64 on your primary PC. You would be better off to run dual boot and test
and verify that the rest of your software will run if the above two classes
of software have not scared you off yet.
