AFAIK all the same, dvi-d I think. dvi out on the video card to dvi in on the monitor. right now kvm is out of the loop, kvm is dvi only and systems will only boot/display on the analog connector possibility of cable has crossed my mind and is why the monitor is coming here to hook up to mine fp
