I'm not sure how I'm 'supposed' to do it, but I use DVD Decryptor to rip the DVD to disk. Then I use DVD shrink to re-author the DVD and write it to a DVD.

Hi Guys, Just bought my first DVD burner. Wondered if I could backup DVDs. Read lotsa stuff on the 'Net. Seems the consensus was to extract files using DVDShrink then burn with Nero. So am using DVDShrink 3.2 and Nero 6.612. DVDShrink extracts, then calls Nero. Nero burns a coaster. Ended with 'Unexpected exception' ... Burncd.cpp Line 5582 I then tried to just get DVDshrink to create just an ISO. It doesn't create xxxxx.iso file but creates a bunch of files: xxxxxx.i00 -> xxxxxx.i03, and xxxxxx.mds. Nero has no idea what to do with these files. What's the deal here? Why is it so friggin' complicated?
