IIS 5.1 which is the IIS version in Win XP pro has a limit of 10 HTTP connections. And since a web browser following HTTP standards can use up 4 connections it kind of limits how many users can browse the site. So either use the server version of the OS or a different web server.

:) Sorry about that. This question comes from an MCSE who works for a company that sells golf and country club software. Apparently the software allows people to book online. For some reason, the club hosts the page on their own computers (presumably on an ADSL or cable connection.) He told me that XP Pro wouldn't work because only 10 people would be able to access the page at a time. I said I thought that the 10 conneciton limit was for network connections, not HTTP. I can't see this being a high usage site (it's not a major golf course, and it's in the highlands of Cape Breton) but I could be wrong. Probably 100 hits an hour, I would think.

I'm supposed to quote on the hardware based on their specs, but since they don't appear to have a clue what the hardware requirements would be, I'm trying to help out.
