IIRC - dynamic discs aren't visible from DOS, and I'm not sure how
recovery would work with them. They're primary (only?) use is for Windows'
software RAID (RAID 0 - striping - in pro variants, RAID 1 and 5 in server
variants, nothing available in home variants). Other then that, there's no
advantage of dynamic discs.

Basic discs are what's usually created by FDISK and similar apps - it's
the method that most other x86-based OS's use and so is most compatible.
