Thane,

My $0.02 worth. APC is the benchmark Tripplite would like to be. And, the two of them have been competing against each other for years.

At our level (PC's and TV's and HTPC's), APC is a much better engineered product IMHO. "Strong like bull" comes to mind. Some might not care for the aesthetics, but, I pay for protection with APC. Really, what is important? I also have experience with their commercial grade products that goes back to the 1970's. In the PC-space APC is my only choice for quality and convenience. If $$$ meant nothing, then their are two much better choices, however, their products are (mostly) commercial and do not really fit well in a home-like environment.

I use 4 of the "now" obsolete BackUps Pro 1100 units.

If you are trying to source a product to sell that gives good value, reasonable protection (vs. nada) for the money spent, than Tripplite might be my choice, however, in this sector Belkin is also quite good too. I have a Belkin F6C350-USB unit that I have been "evaluating" since 1999. It still works well and has been hit several times by NW Georgia Thorms. It now supplies protection for my SW radio.

APC is great but for the value minded Tripplite is the way I go.

So you're saying that APC is worth the extra money? Or that APC has a bigger name and therefore can command a higher price?
