You did everything that would convince me that it was bad.

Subject: [H] New RAM bad?

Hey,

Just to make sure it is not something I am doing, I wanted to run this by
you all.

I just got an extra 1GB of Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2 RAM. I was going to add
this to my existing 1GB RAM (same RAM as new RAM). Upon booting, the BIOS
screen shows the RAM as single channel or virtual channel running at 266MHz.
This was compared to it running at 400MHz dual channel with the 1GB
originally there.

When I went into the BIOS, it shows 1640GB (or something like that) of RAM.

I took the new RAM out and it posted properly. So I took the old RAM out
and put the new RAM in it's place and still got the single channel 266MHz
reading. I then tried each of the new sticks one at a time. One of them
posted at 400Mhz single channel 512MB. The other gave a set of long beeps
with no start the 1st time and then 266Mhz (didn't check the amount that it
posted) the second time.

Am I correct in the assumption that one of these sticks is bad?

Thanks,
Bobby
