I know of a local shop who was selling what he thought was legal copies of office, the MS police showed up and threatened him that they were illegal and to cease. When he asked how he could tell what was legal they said only they would decide. Very BSy. When the 400 pound Gorilla says hop all you can do is ask how high :{)

Seriously, though, I would agree with this.. it's one thing (in my mind) if
Joe bob brother gives his friend a copy.. but it's different when it's being
sold.  That having been said, I've known of storefronts that pushed out tons
with "cracked" copies.. they were reported.. the reason why we say "nothing
happened" is because to our knowledge, and in talking with others, the
storefront, etc. were never contacted and two years later, there is no
change.  If it was taking a while to bend through the courts, that would be
one thing.. but there would be a filing regarding it somewhere, and the
person being sued would know about it.
