What does filling out a credit app hurt?
You have to establish the fact that you are a business. This includes (but
is not limited to):
Business License
State Sales Tax Number and certificate (so you will not have to pay sales
tax on merchandise purchased to resell).
Bank Account credentials.
It seems simple, but a supplier can make this process complicated. And
somebody mentioned a credit app. I have lousy credit. I pay by company
check. Some assume that if you have lousy credit you write hot checks. They
are ignorant to the fact that the difference is you do not go to jail for
not paying your bills, in general. You do go to jail for writing hot checks.
I hate to be labeled as a hot check writer just because I have lousy credit.
The state loves getting their sales tax remittance and the city loves the
money I pay when I renew my business license each year. At least ASI accepts
my company checks which are nothing more than a personal check with a
company name on it. A new supplier would not be so eager to accept my
company check.
