That's because all they know about your location is the ZIP code and they
use the geographical center of the ZIP as the default location.

My ZIP's geographical center is on a hilltop about 3 miles from my actual
location, but using the hybrid map about three steps zoomed out, it's pretty
easy to locate my house. It takes a little fiddling with the panning tools
to get me centered for the final zoom-in.
