reason is this: black cases tend to hide scratches and minor blemishes
better then beige cases.


Remember, I am a small timer here, perhaps sales of from 1 to 3 new computers per month. I am heavy into the repair business, not mine, theirs! Think Maytag when you think of mine.

I can not afford to stock beige and black CD and DVD devices in light of the fact their technology changes so fast. I could easily afford a case of black floppy drives.

But perhaps over half of repair jobs where I have to replace CD and DVD Devices would have black OEM components now. Over half of my customers have DSL or cable Internet, so internal hardware modems are no longer included in my quotes for new computers, but are optional. Same principle probably applies to CD and DVD devices, time to move on to black.

Wow! Perfect timing! I just received 6 beige cases yesterday!
