The SATA raid implementations, for the most part, suck. The only really good ones are the true hardware raids from companies like 3Ware.

At least for Linux. :) For Windows the embedded RAIDs seem to do a little better.

True, but this isn't the 90s anymore. Everyone has moved on. Their RAID implementation is similar to me starting a 3D video card company and releasing a TNT killer. :)

Plus the driver errors are inexcusable. You would think they would know that.
