Unfortunately, all systems could be cooked.  Then again, since the machines
aren’t connected to the internet, etc. the hacking would have to be done at
the terminal, where it is easy to adjust the cards and change the tallies.
That’s a problem.  But every voting district I’ve ever went to is run by a
set of elderly people who manage who comes in and out, and I think they’d
notice if you whipped out an agricultural device scanner at your terminal to
fudge things up (1) and (2) I find it hard to believe that there is an
overage of hardcore conservative “hackers” who are “3l33t” more then there
are hard core liberal hackers who are “3l33t”  :) :)

It is sad that voter fraud has went on for years; the dead have come out to
vote in numerous elections.. and we should always stay aware of the needs of
it.  But I do like articles like this, as they continue to make the case
against internet voting mechanisms some want so badly.
