Well CMD.EXE replaces COMMAND.COM, so you might want to start there. I don't remember anything built into DOS for debugging batch files other than PAUSE & ECHO ON.
I tried CMD.EXE, but it doesn't have the /y /c switch combo. Looks like I'm going to have to put a pause after each line to step through.
