It might when you go to close out FF. Mine goes to sometimes 100% CPU for period of minutes on exit to the point where if I don't listen for the "click" of my close app sound it might still be there churning away.

1GB/2GHz Pentium 4-M here but I run a shit load of stuff concurrently like TBrid, FF, FlashGet, Azureus, SharpReader, Trillian, NBPro, Kiwi Syslog, multi-GB directory moves etc... So I am sucking bandwidth, HDD, CPU & memory almost constantly when actively doing things. Shit, I must download > 10GB/day of data. =)

Azureus has to be the worst CPU usage offender by far with FF a distant second, WinAMP a close 3rd. Then there's NBPro & FF being the RAM hogs. Forces me to do a lot app "priority" adjusts with Process Explorer just to keep system usable.

I stand somewhat corrected in that after coming in from work tonight and having Firefox running all day it is now using 56,624k. So it does eat memory albeit an insignificant amount in my case. Are you sure you guys are using the latest version? @:D>

I'm running 1.0.5, not 1.5.0, but it's taking up 109,192K of physical memory, and 128,956K of virtual. That's 5 windows open, and 37 different tabs. Still, with "only" 512mb of memory, I'm left with 190,000K of physical memory free, so it's not like it's bringing my system to it's knees.
