Yeah, it should work fine.

Putting the drive in another machine is probably best.

Nope.

For onsite work, charge by the hour. I charge $55/hr (Cdn) from the time I leave the shop. If it's out of town, I also charge mileage. Find out what everyone else in your area charges, then match their rates, and provide better service. Once you've proven yourself, raise your rates.

I charge by the job for in house work.

5) How do you all market yourselves?

Radio ads.

I would be doing this in the evenings and on weekends on a sporadic basis.

Are you sure you want to get into this part time?
