I just did. :)
Run the app, reboot...
The app actually appeared to go unresponsive after the ".....OK" screen, and
my drive's LED was flashing. I rebooted and flashed with the 4551 firmware
(not the bootblock firmware, the actual "operating" firmware), rebooted
again, and it works great.
I did have a spare drive--ND-3520--but would have just bought another 3550
if things went wrong. So cheap...
