Ok, so I actually said yes to them when they called and asked if I
wanted the service. I figured that since I make a lot of purchases
online and have had my credit card info stolen from hacked sites
before, it was probably a smart thing.

I get the package in the mail today and find out it's kinda crappy.
First off, $8 a month. Not horrible, but it would need some good
things to justify it. Here's what I get for my $100 a year:

- "Fraud Alerts" when someone requests another card, a pin change, or
does a large value or unusual transaction

- "Fraud Adviser" getting a free credit report from all 3 agencies and
help filing disputes with all three

- $25,000 fraud insurance

Doesn't Visa itself give you automatic insurance against most
fraudulent charges? The 1 occasion I had a card hijacked and charges
posted I disputed them and never ever had to pay or worry about them
again. And I didn't need to pay no $8 a month either.

Here's the big question. Most of what this $8 a month gets me is what
normally a credit card company would provide. If I decline the
program, am I declining what would normally be my rights as a
consumer?
