Actually, I wasn't alluding to the Bush administration at all.

On the contrary, I think it is pretty clear that the reason why real wages haven't increased since 2001 is because of the economic recession kicked off by 9/11. (Sure, there was some slowing occurring before that, but 9/11 is what pushed what could have just been a slow spell into a full recession). The CPI has increased due in a large part to the increased price of energy, further invalidating the projection.

We're climbing out of the recession now, and energy prices seem to be stabilizing to a degree, so I fully anticipate that real wages will be on the increase again shortly.

Saying that the American experiment/standard of living is now going to face a constant decline based on an extrapolation of numbers since 2001 is an egregious error, as there were obviously a great number of other factors at work.

Contrary to popular opinion, neither the political party in power
nor the president has much control over the general US economy.
Economic cycles wax and wane, based on many factors so
complex that no one can forecast them with any assurance.

Gee, and I wonder why that is?
</sarcasm>

Check back in a few years; I bet you'll find a positive increase again.

Jim,

Oh, the standard of living in the USA is driving the world up.

Actually, the "standard of living in the USA" has gone backwards each and every year of the last five years.
