Of course....I have my entire CD collection ripped...saved on several computer and my ipod...not a problem. I don't even use iTunes to rip...but you can input any ripped CD or mp3 into itunes and load on an iPod...same for movies, etc.

if you buy an Ipod and never use their music service, can you use it to play back your own mp3 and other supported formats unencumbered by DRM?
