I have an external high gain antenna on my Netgear DG834G. Comes with a
standard SMA connector and an adapter that steps up to something bigger (now
sitting in a box somewhere).

Made a huge difference to me. Actually thinking of replacing it with a more
powerful one to increase reception on my SqueezeBox 3 in the livingroom
(currently 41%).
