I have seen it lots, in various forms. Sometimes it is a power cord with either a loose connection or a loose wire. Bumping the desk or the case will cause it to short.
More likely in your situation it is the power supply - your system maybe be drawing more power than it can provide and I have seen that cause it to simply fail. Putting in a beefier power supply could remedy the situation. Of course it could also be the mobo but that is less likely. On 5/29/06, Thane Sherrington (S) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
I've got a computer that turns itself off suddenly (as if the power cord was pulled) when playing Myth 3 or Max Payne 1. It plays UT2004 and Q3A fine. It's running XP Home with all updates, an ATI X550 video card, AMD 3500+ on an MSI Neo-4 (NForce 4) motherboard. I know Myth 3 and Max Payne 1 are not written for XP, but I was wondering if anyone has seen this before. T
