I know, you are already scratching your head wondering if I am insane. Am doing a little job for a friend of mine. He has an old Packard Bell (I know, I know), an Intel (ditto, ditto) 233, and only 24 megs of ram. He has a body shop. To mix the paints he needs for all the different makes, models, colors, etc. his paint supplier gave him a cd that prints out the formula he needs to mix. The program on the cd needs to run on at least Win 98, or up OS. I have 7 cd's of W98. All legal, all with their COA's etc. The problem, they are all OEM/full versions, I have no upgrade cd.
I know I could wipe the system and just do a clean install, but with it being a P Bell, I am afraid of being able to find the drivers I will need to re-install. And, I'm lazy. :) All this system is going to do, is sit in a shop and spit out a numerical paint formula, I don't need any bells or whistles. Is there any way I can "trick" the Win 98 full version so that I do an upgrade from the Win 95 (also legal version) to 98?
I'm headed over to Google to do a little searching, but I know there is a tremendous amount of knowledge on this board, so I thought I would throw it out there.
Any and all help, suggestions, etc. appreciated.
Harvey
