I was surprised to find that a system this old would let me use a bootable cd-rom, but it did and I am now installing. It wanted to install to c:\windows.000 but I didn't let it do that, I just changed it to c:\windows. If that was wrong, then I guess it was a sign that I just needed to go ahead and wipe the hdd and do a clean install of 98.

I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

Thanks again,

Harvey

Ok, deleted, tried the install and it still detects Windows and will not let me "upgrade". So, I shut down, rebooted and Windows won't come up as Win.com is missing. Do I need to boot with a floppy so that I can access the cd to do the install?
