Yeah that is what it was. They had, at one time, a Compaq IJ6000 wonder printer (ala Lexmark, I think). Once I got it off everything was fine.

Win2K Pro SP4. System clean. Open system properties and device manager and usually it will refresh and you can poke around in the hardware. However, this system constantly polls at the hardware and since it's always refreshing - you can't open anything. What in God's name would cause something like this perpetual refresh/poll in device manager?
