Okay, I am in a dillema here.........

I had a server that I use as a webserver/sql/samba
server at home.

For some totally bizzare reason my celeron 2.66
decided to give up the ghost and it utterly refuses to
boot. The mobo is an intel 865PERL original board and
that seemed to work fine, just seems the CPU is dead.

Anyways, the gist of the matter is that I went to the
market to find a replacement processor. No luck,
everything is LGA 775 now here in Saudi Arabia.

Okay, so I decide that what the hell, just upgrade
anyways. So here I am looking around and I manage to
find a Pentium D 805 for only like 100 Dollars. I
said, what the hey, lets pick that up and a 945G
motherboard and 2 gigs of DDR2 533.

Well........

Guess what.......

That 2.66 Dual core now is running at 180 X 20 =
3.6Ghz!! Stock heatsink, stock voltage.

Running [EMAIL PROTECTED] on both cores gives me like 68C.

So my question is........

Should I dump my current Athlon 64 3000+ which is
overclocked to 2.4Ghz and replace it with the Pentium
system?

That would also mean that I would have to get myself a
PCIe VGA card also :(

Would it be worth it? Would it be faster than my
current A64?
