Get a 7600GT. Gigabyte makes one that runs off heatpipes with no fan and got good reviews. They are around $160-$180

Subject: [H] Video cards - again...

Sorry to keep bothering ya'll about this. But every time I tentatively
decide on a card, I get some new information that makes me re-evaluate.

Anyway, to get you all up to date, I'm looking for an NVIDIA AGP VC to
upgrade my TI-4200. I do not want to spend the $$$ for a 78xx card. I
really do not want to spend more than $200.

Right now, I'm looking at the

XFX Geforce 6800XT PVT42KUDE3 Video Card - Retail (256MB - $147)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150157

and this

ASUS Geforce 6800 N6800/TD/512M Video Card - Retail (512MB - $170)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814121216

The 6800XT is 256-bit/DDR-3 RAM and the 6800 is 128-bit/DDR-2 RAM. The 6800
has more pixel shaders and vertex units than the 6800XT, but it looks to me
that the 256-bit vs. 128-bit bus and faster RAM may offset.

What do you all think about these units?

Thanks,
Bobby
