Every article that comes up on a quick Google search says that it does
nothing for outbound traffic. Maybe something else triggered it in
your case, or maybe it saw incoming traffic and warned you.
So far as I know, SP2 firewall alerts and asks for an exception when
a program sets itself up as a server. So it does block some outgoing
traffic, but a non-server app could send out traffic undetected.
