I guess its a lot to do with personal preference.

For me, if I look real closely I can see what looks like edge enhancement
and banding while viewing through HDMI, I find these effects a lot less
noticable via component.

That's really interesting that you found component to look any better. You
would think based on specs that HDMI should provide a cleaner transfer

Looks great, colours are vibrant and if you look at it up very close, i
would say that the component output is ever-so slightly better then
HDMI....once you get back a few feet though, you can't really tell them
apart.

Using it with a Panasonic TH50PHD8.
