That was my initial limit also ($150). But when looking around, I noticed that for $30 or more, there was a big jump in ability/performance. So then I decided I could maybe go up to $180 or so. But when I looked there, I saw that for about $40 more, there was another big jump in performance. So the new limit was about $225. And on and on....
So when I saw this 7800 GS which came out to 250 after MIRs, I figured I'd jump as this is supposedly the top-end for the NVIDIA AGP line for not a whole lot more than the 6800 GS's that I was looking at (which were out of stock everywhere). So good luck with your search. Let us know what you decide on. UPDATED glad you finally made a decision, I am in the same boat. Would like to froggy hop to A64 but does not seem doable at this time ( at least as high as I would like to jump ) just bumped system to 2 gig of ram ( on special at newegg, $129 after rebate ) Video card would be a nice improvement but how much to spend on a supposedly obsolete slot. And cards, core clock, memory clock, pipelines, memory 128/256 bit errrrrr. actually looking at a straight 6800. lower MHz then some but 256bit memory and 12 piplines. You definitely spent more then I want to. $150 is tops for me.
