When the computer is locked, only the wallpaper and a small window shows. The window says that you need to press Ctrl-Alt-Del, then type in the password. After I type in the password, the screen doesn't do anything. Then after almost exactly 60 seconds -- whammo! -- everything appears all at once. Perhaps there is a setting in the registry somewhere that speeds this up. By the way, when the computer is locked, it is still operational.
