Thane, they are all basically the same as long as the drive is in the same class - don't know if I can explain this so you will understand what I am trying to say - They have basically 2 platter designs/setup. One group is the 240,320,120gb that make up one group, and the second are the 200,250, 500, 750. I see those drives with multiples of 20's having all similar specs and those with multiples of 50's having slightly different specs. I comes down to the platters used to assemple the drive, the subsequent density of the data, etc. Seagate has pdf's of all their specs for each drive so once you review a couple you should know which grouping you want. That said, I am sure there is little difference maybe 1/10 of 1%, but if that is important to you then go for it. B
