Controller on the mobo could be going out? I would have thought PSU
first too. Also might want to change the cable. I had a bad ribbon give
me intermittent errors like this and it took forever to diagnose.

I have yet to duplicate error but that is not the weird part. Figuring maybe HD
or PSU I put in a new Hitachi drive. when at the desktop any keyboard strokes
locks it up hard. Does not do this with the older maxtor. Have tried two
different new hitachi drives. Tried a different PSU thinking maybe not enough
power with the new drive.
Possible compatibility with the MB ???? older system, ECS k7s5a. No blown caps
on mb or in psu. I know there could still be bad ones though. I believe the
most current bios.
memtest runs clean
any ideas appreciated.
