Diesel has high demand in Europe. When you take oil to make gas you always get gasoline and diesel, you can affect the proportion but it will still be there. So that means the extra diesel produced from the gas used by the US goes to Europe, hence the demand for it, plus the proportion of the diesel being made may be less lowering supply.
