If you don't like screwing with cartridges, and don't care about color, then try a lightscribe burner.

I have a R200 that I bought a year ago, and I am at the last 25 percent of the cartridges they give you. I don't print anything on it, but photo paper prints, or CD/DVDs, and I don't do one of those very often. I turn it off, and on only as needed, and I ordered one of those Epson head cleaner kits somebody posted.... just in case.

However, I only paid fifty bucks for it, after CompUSA sale and rebates... and since I use it so little, and a set of print cartridges cost 75 bucks, which will probably dry out before I get a chance to use them up ( Epson says to replace them every six months).... I don't mind getting a new on sale printer every year or so, rather then screwing around with refills!

only thing mine is used for, so far no problem drying heads but maybe because it LEAKS :{(
