Could it be possible that I have something else mapped to L and it doesn't show up in explorer? I remember once trying to map a web drive or some crap that some student had me fooling with. It never worked.

Typically what happens is you have local drives C D and E. You also have a mapped drive F. Then you put your thumb drive in and nothing happens, but if you look in device manager it is there... but not in explorer. The solution is to assign it a drive ..Y.

Do do you see it in Device Manager?
