actually Duocor Standby Disk does a good job of making fully boot able backups
but it is still in beta and I am begging them not to loose the explorer
function which has been removed ( ability to backup/restore individual files )
They currently are having trouble getting bootable x64 but x86 works fine, just
not real convenient for a HD upgrade. I will look into acronis.

not having had to do any kind of repair it looks like it may do good there, on
one boot one day I got some weird corrupted file message but two reboots and it
was fine, no idea if Vista fixed it or I got lucky and my luck usually sucks
