I ran a version of HDTune and the parameter in question was Hardware
ECC Recovered which was listed as currently 1, worst 1.  Know anything
about this one?

Sounds like it was reporting SMART results.  If that is the case,
then it is probably correct, though it may be reading the SMART
information incorrectly (since this varies from manufacturer to
manufacturer.)  If you knew what the parameter was, I could probably
tell you if you need to be worried.
