I have an older socket 939 PC that I would like to install a dual core CPU.
Of course the 939 chips are being fazed out and there are slim pickings
about, however I found this one at NewEgg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103627

It is a Toledo core but it has only 2x512 L2 cache which is half of a normal
Toledo. How much of an effect would the smaller cache have on performance?
Is this a good chip or should I look elsewhere?

I asked a similar question some months ago and at the time the
recommendation was the Opteron 165 Denmark. Are the Opterons still the way
to go?

Thanks!
