I am having some SLI type problems and other misc and I would like to have
My main PC upgraded even more than it is now and move my upgraded parts to
My secondary computer that I use in case of problems and for friends here.

It's a lot of money but, I would like to get this for under $1,000. Way
Under, that would even be better!

Now some information...

Currently using an FX-55 AMD 64 bit CPU, with two 1gig sticks of DDR I think

PC400 not positive though, but isn't critical TO know for this, memory,
That Is the pretty low latency with all the flashy lights on the sticks.
The motherboard I is PCI-Express and I have two 7800-GTX vidcards but for
The last year, I have only been able to use one. When I try to get my
System, via Windows XP pro - that seems to not be recognized as valid by MSN

Website, to use SLI it says something about removing or something, other
Video cards. But I am 100% positive, I only have the 2 installed, and I DO
Have the SLI clip connecting the 2 vidcards. I had 2 different people check
That too, and the clip is on properly and securely.

Even if someone has an idea that fixes my system so that it does see and use

Both cards with SLI instead of just seeing each apart, I would still like to

Buy the new motherboard, CPU, and ram.

I would kind of like to go with AMD, if possible, and Dual Core CPU, and I
Heard I will end up going with DDR-2 memory, so I can probably find
Something nice at Corsair perhaps, unless there are any cautions or advice.

Which Motherboard and CPU should I get? I want a really stable motherboard,
With SATA, IDE, 2 Ethernet ports preferred, USB's, PS2, etc, AOK, FYI, OMY
HEY, ACK! You get the idea.

I want to run my two SATA drives striped like they are now, and have at
Least 1 other drive, IDE probably, as a possible data drive. I have a
300gig drive that is seen at boot up but we could never get it to be used by

Windows and I really would prefer to have my drive useable!

That is all I can think of, relating to this at least, so, if anyone has any

Suggestions as to what I should get, or any questions, please let me know, I

Would really appreciate it.

Oh, and the problem mentioned away back by Jim Edwards, for me (he moved a
Copy of a message I wanted posted here, that I emailed to him). The problem
After days of stress and trying different things, seemed to be related to
McAfee Virus Scan program I had, that was supplied by AOL. I had been
Running it along time, weeks and weeks and weeks months? Anyway a long time
No idea what happened or why it bugged out on me but it seemed to think
Most everything running was infected, and was shutting each program down for

A possible Data some Execution error problem, so, I couldn't do anything. I
Ran in safe mode, did a virus scan as it had warned me to do, when windows
Came up each itme, and it didn't find anything. I ran Panda, which I got
>From using my other PC, then copied it over using my external hard drive,
Ran it and all it did, because I didn't configure it I think, was tell me
Some cookies should be zapped, so I did, not big deal, then it was happy,
But McAfee was still upset, so I deleted it, and everything has been fine
Since. I Spent 30+ hours and many more staring at my PC ion the verge of
Total insanity. I tried so many things, turning things off, anything,
Running it with only some things running and turning other things off as it
Was booting up.. That's how I found out that it was McAfee, by using
MsConfig and only letting some things run ultimately pointing to it.
