After using Vista at home for 3 months, I hate having to use XP at work. I like the new interface, the usability tweaks are great, and it just -looks- like a modern operating system again. On my hardware, Vista feels more responsive, too.
That's not to say there aren't problems...VPN connectivity, the Control Panel redesign as you mentioned, and the driver situation (especially in Vista64 like I run). I'm optimistic that these issues will be resolved shortly.
