Major pet peeve of mine. There are tons of diesels out there that kick the sh*t outta the hybrids in mileage and proven longevity, but we are not allowed to buy them here for some damn reason. Instead, they push these hybrids on us.
Let's see, longer engine life, vastly improved mileage, less parts to break, and we can't get 'em here. For example, a Tacoma here gets 19-21 mpg, whilst the turbo diesel Tacoma they get in Europe gets some 38-39 mpg, and has a better engine for a truck anyways. I know which one I want for my pickup truck. Supposedly this is all changing soon as the new 2008 no (or low)-sulphur diesel comes on line, and we should be able to get some nice diesels like the rest of the world already gets to enjoy.. sigh. Oh well.. >>I also get around 45 - 50 mpg depending on traffic and if the AC is on. I'm >>currently looking for a bumper sticker that says "Unlike hybrids, I actually >>get 50mpg - what are YOU really doing to support the troops besides placing >>an insipid yellow ribbon atop your SUV?", but I'm not having much luck ;) >> -- JRS <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Please remove **X** to reply... ...Cleverly Disguised As A Responsible Adult...
